Destination Wedding in Providence (Sara + Ohad)

Traveling from Israel and Florida all the way to Providence, RI  made this Botanical Center wedding of Sara and Ohad’s something we couldn’t wait to share. The planning for this March 31st destination wedding was a whirlwind (it all started in January of this year!) and the result was amazing. This cocktail style reception with mismatching table sizes stood out to us as something that is sure to inspire other brides.

Sara wanted to make sure that all the guests felt comfortable at her wedding. With guests traveling such long distances for the event she knew she would have a number of people who weren’t familiar with each other or the area. Unlike most weddings this one started with cocktail prior to the ceremony. Only after a few drinks and delectable hors d’oeuvres were offered did the traditional Jewish ceremony take place.

The couple’s loved ones carried in a handmade Chuppah to signal the start of the ceremony. As they said their vows they were circled by all the ones they cared about…you couldn’t get more intimate or meaningful!

Some mouthwatering stations offered main dish options and included “Extreme Green Jeans” (salad greens and fresh toppings surrounded by fresh grilled shrimp, chicken, marinated beef, or mixed zucchini and eggplant). “The Grill Station” included tenderloin steaks and Moroccan lamb loin with pistachio-pomegranate relish all of which was freshly grilled in front of the guests on hardwood charcoal and mesquite by our Chef. A “Pasta Station” featured fresh hand cut Pappardelle pasta with braised short ribs, fresh Cavatappi Lobster Mac N’ Cheese, and Black Truffle MezzaLuna sauteed in Truffle Cognac butter. Guests found one surprise after another as they walked through the gardens!

Instead of opting for large rounds with set seating in the dining room, Sara went with a restaurant style open seating so everyone could choose their place. We had a number of different size tables (including 4 tops and 6 tops) which created an intimate and comfortable atmosphere. In the middle of the room one long farmer’s table acted as the traditional head table for the couple and their families. The flowers by Semia on each and every table were bold and gorgeous!!

A two tier ceremonial cake along with Cheesecake Lolli Pops, Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies dipped in chocolate, mini Crème Brulee, and fresh fruit salad were the dessert choices for the night.

Congrats to Sara and Ohad and thank you for including us in your STUNNING destination wedding!

We thought we'd share a portion of a note in response to the event, it meant SO much to us to hear such kind words:

"I cannot stop thinking about the marvelous job you and the staff of Morins did for our children's wedding last Saturday. The food was far superior to any wedding fare we have ever had. The service and staff were impeccable; the stations were artistically and elegantly displayed. We loved every hors d'ouvre that was passed, every item on every station. Our guests cannot stop raving about the quality and freshness of the food and the variety of the selections."
